References to “systems”, or “platform” means any online services provided by us and any data collected, managed, and stored from you by us. References to “you”, “your” and “Customer” mean a registered user of the platform and the services provided via our website, whether as an individual or on behalf of an entity that meets the “Customer” criteria set out in the Privacy Policy.

  6. Data Controller

    1. For the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) the data controller for this Privacy Policy is Vida International Group LTD.

  7. What personal information is collected?

    1. When you register as a user of the platform, you will be required to provide a valid e-mail address, full name and password.

    2. As part of the account sign-up process, and in line with identity checks you will also be required to provide your date of birth, phone number, full address, and (if applicable) your Passport Copy.

    3. In compliance with financial regulations and Anti-Money Laundering regulations (AML) we require your nominated personal bank account details and identification documents such as passport, driving licence and/or ID Card.

    4. Should you establish contact with us via telephone, online chat, in writing or via a contact form from the website you may be required to provide some or all of the details set out in 3.1-3.3.

    5. When visiting the website we may automatically collect the following information:

      1. Technical information, including the Internet Protocol (“IP”) address used to connect your computer to the internet, your login information browser type and version, internet service provider (“ISP”), time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, referral source and length of visit;

      2. Information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators ("URL") clickstream to, through and from our site (including date and time); loan requests you viewed or searched for; page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our customer service number.

We are working closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services, analytics providers, search information providers, credit reference agencies) and may receive information about you from them.

    1. In addition to identity checks and security we may also use your personal information for the following purposes:

      1. To carry out our obligations in the Lender Terms and Conditions and to provide you with the information and services that you request from us;

      2. To improve our site to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and your computer;

      3. Updates to your experience of the platform, including removing or adding additional criteria;

      4. To issue you with promotional and marketing communications targeted at your interests. This includes information about other services we offer that are similar to those that you have previously enquired about. You have the choice to opt-in and out of this facility as you require;

      5. To provide you with welcome e-mails with information you need to get started, legal information about borrowing and lending, alerts about your account and/or investments;

      6. To administer our site and for internal operations including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, and research. It will also assist us in dealing effectively with customer feedback, inquiries, complaints, and requests directly from the customer or from service providers regarding customers;

      7. Providing statistical or transactional data regarding users to third parties or regulators. This will be anonymised except were requested from regulators;

      8. Anonymised transaction data published publicly regarding transactions and trades.

  9. Disclosures of personal information

    1. We may, without limitation, share your personal information with any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.

    2. We may share your information with selected third parties such as business partners, suppliers, and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you.

    3. We may disclose your personal information to third parties in the following events:

      1. If we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets;

      2. If Vida International Group LTD or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets

If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vida International Group LTD, our customers or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction;

      4. We may need to share your information with other lenders or borrowers if necessary to enforce a loan contract;

      5. We may share your information with identity verification providers for anti-money laundering purposes;

      6. We may share your information with currency exchange providers where you use our International Payments currency conversion service;

      7. To assist law enforcement or any other crime prevention or taxation authorities and regulators.

    4. We will not disclose your personal information to any third party other than those set out in 5.2-5.3, other than a regulator, government or other judicial or governing body or a service provider to enable continued compliant services or updates to services.

    5. In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, we also use third party software to carry out our identity and AML checks. In some instances, we may require further information from you to complete these checks.

  10. Data retention and storage of personal information

    1. The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services.     4. We will not use your ID documents for any purpose other than identifying you. All documents will be stored encrypted on our secure server. These will be held for as long as needed to fulfill our responsibilities in accordance with Money Laundering Regulations.

Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our App; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorized access.

    6. On receipt of your personal information, we will ensure that our rigorous security and risk controls protect your personal data and will use all reasonable restrictions to prevent unauthorised access.

    1. We will contact you by electronic means, which will be via e-mail, in writing or by SMS (“Short Messaging Service” ie. Text message). We may contact you regarding our services, including updates and with any direct marketing in accordance with your preferences where you have offered consent.

    1. You believe the information we hold is inaccurate and during our investigation, this is proven to be accurate from our verification process;

    2. Where data is to be erased you propose to apply a restriction instead;

    3. Where we have declared we will erase data you have requested to restrict the data for the duration of the purposes you need to facilitate legal or defense claims.

  4. Under GDPR regulations you have the right to control your marketing preferences. You will therefore be required to opt-in to marketing updates rather than opt-out. You can change your preferences at your own leisure.
